Deutsche Börse: game over in planned merger with LSE.

(CercleFinance.com) - German stockmarket operator Deutsche Börse yesterday acknowledged the European Commission's ban on its proposed merger with the London Stock Exchange (LSE).


"Despite compensatory measures proposed by both companies, the European Commission concluded that the merger would significantly impede effective competition in the common market," Deutsche Börse said.

When the group officially receives notification of the decision - which is imminent - the proposed merger under the auspices of the ad hoc company HLDCO123 Plc proposed on 1 June 2016 will become "automatically obsolete".
