Loews Corp: Q2 EBITDA more than doubles

(CercleFinance.com) - Conglomerate Loews Corporation - parent company of insurer CNA - today reported net income of $360m for Q2 2023, or $1.
58 per share, compared with EPS of $0.68 in Q2 2022.

CNA reported exceptional results, despite the high catastrophe losses incurred by the sector. The company also recorded its highest-ever quarterly underlying underwriting income, management said.

Loews also reported higher earnings for its energy infrastructure subsidiary Boardwalk, as well as for its hotel subsidiary Loews Hotels, and higher net investment income for the parent company.
