ViacomCBS: Sumner Redstone passes away
(CercleFinance.com) - ViacomCBS announced on Wednesday the death of Sumner M Redstone, who was both its Chairman Emeritus and the Chairman and CEO of National Amusements, the controlling shareholder of the media and entertainment group.
He was 97 years old. Sumner Redstone was in charge of Viacom for over 30 years as executive chairman of the board of directors after National Amusements acquired a controlling stake in the group in 1987. He became Chairman Emeritus of both Viacom and CBS in February 2016, before the companies merged late last year, pursuant to an agreement signed in August 2016. Copyright (c) 2020 CercleFinance.com.
