Viacom: buys exclusive cable rights to 'Seinfeld' from Sony

(CercleFinance.com) - Viacom announced over the weekend the acquisition of Seinfeld from Sony Pictures Television, giving the company the exclusive cable rights for all 180 episodes of the comedy series.


From October 2021, the full library of Seinfeld episodes will air on Viacom's entertainment TV channels, including Comedy Central, Paramount Network and TV Land. In addition, catch-up episodes will be available via authenticated video-on-demand, websites and apps, Viacom said.

The deal was closed for an undisclosed sum.
