Interpublic: closes data marketing firm deal

(CercleFinance.com) - Interpublic, the world's fourth largest advertising company, has completed the acquisition of data marketing firm Acxiom, which will now operate as a stand-alone unit within the group.


Acxiom - which represents approximately 8% of Interpublic's combined revenues - will remain headquartered in Conway (Arkansa) and will operate under the responsibility of Interpublic's chief data and marketing technology officer, Arun Kumar.

Last month Interpublic completed a bond issue of two billion dollars to finance this acquisition.

Interpublic said that the deal will provide significant financial benefits by combining data management and marketing services for media strategy, planning and buying, personalized messaging and analytics.
