Boeing: 1.6 billion dollar contract with US Navy

(CercleFinance.com) - The US Navy has awarded Boeing a 1.
6 billion dollar contract to make 11 P-A Poseidon aircraft, the aircraft manufacturer announced.

Nine of the aircraft are destined for the US Navy fleet, while two will join the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), which has been a partner in the joint P-81 program since 2009.

With this new contract, the US Navy will have 128 aircraft, of which 14 for the RAAF.

The P-8A is a long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft used for intelligence gathering, surveillance reconnaissance and search and rescue.
