Boeing: aircraft deliveries fall in Q1

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Boeing announced a sharp drop in airplane deliveries in Q1, with the US plane manufacturer suffering from a string of incidents that have recently affected its 737 MAX.

The Arlington, Virginia-based group says it delivered 83 commercial aircraft in the first three months of the year, compared with 130 in the same period of 2023.

The number of 737 aircraft deliveries stood at 67 over the period, compared with 113 a year ago.

Boeing says it recorded no new deliveries for either the 747 or the 777 during the quarter.

The company is under increased scrutiny from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the wake of several incidents involving its 737 MAX earlier this year, including a door being ripped off mid-flight on an Alaska Airlines flight.

Yesterday Boeing shares closed down almost 2% following these announcements yesterday.
