(CercleFinance.com) - Icelandair, Iceland's flag carrier, said it has reached an interim agreement with Boeing regarding compensation for a fraction of its losses due to the grounding of Boeing 737-MAX planes.

While the details of the agreement are confidential, the airline said the estimated impact of the suspension on its operating profit (EBIT) quantified to date was around 135 million dollars, taking into account the agreement.

Icelandair said it plans to continue its discussions with Boeing regarding compensation due to the financial effects resulting from the suspension of Boeing 737-MAX flights.

The estimated impact has increased in recent months, as the suspension continues, the airline said.
