AMD: collaboration with BlackBerry in robotics

(CercleFinance.com) - Canadian technology group BlackBerry announced on Tuesday that it will be collaborating with American chipmaker AMD to design next-generation robotic systems, notably for the automotive and surgical sectors.

The groups say they want to develop low-latency, high-precision devices capable of delivering consistent performance for industrial and healthcare applications.

The project will be based on BlackBerry's QNX real-time operating and software development platform and AMD's Kria K26 module-based systems.

They say that this combination will enable data fusion, supercomputing and real-time control, thus shortening process development times and ultimately shortening time-to-market.
