AT&T: FirstNet to invest $8 billion in network over 10 years

As a reminder, FirstNet is a US public safety network deployed under a unique public-private partnership between the US federal government and AT&T.

The FirstNet Authority's 10-year, $8 billion investment initiative will evolve and expand the network.

In detail, FirstNet plans to invest $6.3 billion as part of its network contract with AT&T, with a further $2 billion earmarked for ongoing investments in coverage enhancements for public safety, which are currently under discussion between the parties.

These strategic investments will expand and evolve FirstNet to ensure that public safety remains at the forefront of innovative, life-saving technologies.
