Carnival: no celebrations after quarterly results

(CercleFinance.com) - Carnival shares are down 1% in early trading on Wall Street today after the cruise line reported an adjusted net loss of 1.
9 billion dollars for Q1 2021-22, reflecting the impact of the health crisis on the tourism industry.

Passengers carried increased nearly 20% from the previous quarter, while simultaneously increasing revenue per passenger cruise day, resulting in an improvement in adjusted EBITDA, management said.

Carnival expects the full fleet of each brand to return to operation for the summer season, which is typically the most profitable time of year, and estimates that monthly adjusted EBITDA will become positive at the start of its summer season.
