Shell: Timi platform comes onstream in Malaysia

(CercleFinance.com) - Shell announces that its subsidiary Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB) has started gas production on its Timi platform in Malaysia, under the SK318 Production Sharing Contract (PSC).


Timi is Shell's first wellhead platform in Malaysia, powered by a hybrid solar and wind energy system.

This unmanned platform is also more cost-effective, being around 60% lighter than a conventional wellhead platform.

Timi is designed to produce up to 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of gas at peak production, and evacuate its gas via a new 80-kilometre pipeline to the production hub.
