BNP Paribas: net income down 2% in Q1
(CercleFinance.com) - BNP Paribas has published a 2.
2% drop in net income to E3.1bn for Q1 2024, or E2.51 per share, on pretty flat revenues (-0.4%) of nearly E12.5bn (+3% approx. excluding a strong base effect for Global Markets).
The banking group boasts very solid commercial performances within each operating division, as well as a positive jaws effect of 1.1 point, thanks to operating expenses that are down 1.5%, and a cost of risk (29 basis points) that is still low.
BNP Paribas confirms its 2024 trajectory, including revenue growth of over 2%, a positive jaws effect, a cost of risk of less than 40 basis points, and net income in excess of 2023 distributable net income (E11.2bn).
