Iberdrola: commissions power plant in Mexico

(CercleFinance.com) - GE today announced that GE Vernova's Gas Power business, together with Iberdrola Mexico, celebrated the start of commercial operation of the Topolobampo III power plant in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, close to the Topolobampo gas pipeline.


The 766 MW plant, powered by GE's H-class combined-cycle equipment, is a combined-cycle power plant designed to support Mexico's renewable-energy-rich grid and reinforce renewable growth in the country.

Topolobampo III aims to meet the growing energy demand of Mexico's population, which, according to the IEA's national analysis, is expected to exceed 150 million by 2050, compared with nearly 127 million today.
