CaixaBank: 2023 profit jumps 53.9% to E4.82bn

(CercleFinance.com) - CaixaBank posts 2023 profit of E4.
82bn, up +53.9% from the E3.13bn in 2022.

Core revenue growth (+31.6% y-o-y) to E15.14bn stood out in 2023, driven by net interest income of E10.11bn (+54.3%). This satisfactory performance offset the decline in net fees and commissions (-5.1%).

Gross income rose by 28.3% over the year to E14.23bn, driven by net interest income (+54.3%), income from insurance services (+19.6%) and shareholdings (+26.4%), offsetting the fall in fees and commissions (-5.1%), CaixaBank's management said.

CaixaBank's Board of Directors will propose the payment of a cash dividend of E0.3919 gross per share on profits for 2023 to its Shareholders AGM, representing a cash payment of 60% to be paid in April. This equates to a total E2.89bn payment to shareholders.
