Voltalia: contract for sale of electricity in Kenya

(CercleFinance.com) - Voltalia announces that it has signed a contract in Kenya for the sale of electricity for a 50 MW solar power plant located in Kopere, about 300 km northwest of the capital Nairobi.
The contract will be effective as soon as the solar power station is commissioned.

Initiated by Martifer Solar, the project's development was finalised by joint teams. The 20-year electricity sales contract has been signed with Kenya Power and Lightning Company (KPLC), Kenya's national electricity company.

The project will help meet the Kenyan government's aim of achieving full access to electricity by 2020 (against 70% in 2017). It will also have a positive impact on the social and economic development of the Nandi region.
