Daimler: extensive testing of eEconic

(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz Trucks is currently conducting several rounds of intensive testing on the battery-electric eEconic, a vehicle that could be ideally suited for use as a waste collection vehicle, it says.


The company's engineers are currently focusing on the vehicle's safety, performance and durability testing. Tests of the batteries and the electric drive train are also to be carried out in the summer and winter. There will also be tests on noise measurements, electromagnetic compatibility and rough road tests.

Once these tests have been completed, Daimler says it will be possible to begin customer trials in real-life operation.

The start of mass production of the eEconic at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth is planned for the second half of 2022.
