UnitedHealth: Optum to acquire LHC Group

(CercleFinance.com) - UnitedHealth Group announced that its healthcare services subsidiary Optum has entered into an agreement to acquire LHC Group, a provider of home health care services, for 170 dollars per share in cash.


It said that LHC Group's 30,000 employees, including front-line care providers and administrative and support staff, provide over 12 million "home care procedures" annually.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2022, subject to customary approvals and other closing conditions. It is expected not to impact the company's adjusted EPS outlook in 2022 and will only be modestly accretive in 2023.
