Morgan Stanley: takes majority stake in Ultraedge

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Morgan Stanley announced that it would acquire a majority stake in data center operator UltraEdge, currently an integral part of SFR, a 100% subsidiary of Altice France.


UltraEdge - which currently has a portfolio of 257 "datacenters" interconnected via SFR's national fiber optic network - is initially to be spun off.

As part of the operation, passive infrastructure and data center equipment will be transferred to UltraEdge, while servers and active equipment will be retained by SFR.

Morgan Stanley says that the investment will be made through Morgan Stanley Investment Management via investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, a private infrastructure investment platform.
