GM hires Vice President of Batteries

(CercleFinance.com) - GM has announced the recruitment of Kurt Kelty, battery expert and former Tesla executive, as Vice President in charge of batteries.


In this newly created position, Kurt Kelty will be responsible for GM's battery cell strategy and a new end-to-end approach.

This will include the use of raw materials, research, development and investment in new technologies, commercialization of cells and packs, as well as end-of-life opportunities.

His team will be responsible for a critical element of GM's electrification strategy, bringing together the company's already strong battery development resources with industry expertise to deliver cost-effective, lower-cost, higher-performance electric vehicles to customers faster.
