GE: Pattern Energy orders 1050 MW for its wind farm

(CercleFinance.com) - GE Renewable Energy today announced a 1050 MW order for Pattern Energy's Western Spirit Wind farms in New Mexico (US) with a 10-year Full Service Agreement (FSA).


The order for 377 2MW turbines will power the equivalent of more than 590,000 homes, GE says. The company also specifies that Western Spirit Wind will use turbines with nominal ratings ranging from 2.3 to 2.8 and will use different tower heights to optimise wind capture.

According to GE, Western Spirit wind farms combined with new and existing transmission lines will help New Mexico meet its renewable energy goals.

Turbine deliveries have already begun, with commercial operation scheduled to begin before the end of the year.

The GE share has started off trading down about 1% on Monday.
