ExxonMobil: extends partnership with Global Thermostat

(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil announced on Monday that it has extended its partnership with Global Thermostat, a carbon dioxide capture specialist, after 12 months of technical testing.


The US oil giant says it made its decision after conducting a series of studies on the feasibility and scalability of Global Thermostat's technology, which consists of recovering carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.

ExxonMobil and Global Thermostat, a company created in 2010, concluded an agreement last year to capture greenhouse gas emissions from industrial sources, particularly at power plants.
