USA: +0.1% industrial production in February

(CercleFinance.com) - Following a contraction of 0.
5% the previous month (revised from an initial estimate of -0.1%), US industrial production rebounded by 0.1% in February, with a 0.8% jump in manufacturing output per se.

The Federal Reserve explains this increase in part by the recovery from weather-related declines in January, while warmer-than-normal temperatures caused utilities production to fall by 7.5% in February.

Also according to the Fed, which published these figures, the capacity utilization rate in US industry held steady at 78.3% in February, a level 1.3 points below its long-term average (1972-2023).
