Amgen: agrees to acquire Horizon Therapeutics

(CercleFinance.com) - Amgen has announced that its board of directors has agreed with the board of Horizon Therapeutics that the US company will acquire the Irish-based biopharmaceutical company for 116.
50 dollars per Horizon share in cash.

This price represents a premium of about 19.7% over the share's closing price on 9 December and implies an enterprise value of approximately 28.3 billion dollars for the company, which specialises in rare, autoimmune and severe inflammatory diseases.

The potential new drugs in Horizon's pipeline strongly add to Amgen's own R&D portfolio. The acquisition will drive revenue and adjusted EPS growth and is expected to be accretive from 2024, it said.
