Amazon: launches online clinic service in US

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Amazon announced the launch of an online clinic service in the US to enhance its existing health care offering.


The virtual health centre, dubbed the "Amazon Clinic", will be available in 32 US states for the monitoring of around 20 minor illnesses ranging from allergies to acne to hair loss.

Once on the site, customers select their condition, choose their provider from a list of approved telehealth professionals, and then complete a short intake questionnaire.

Customers and health professionals then contact each other via a secure messaging portal, a teleconsultation at the end of which the patient is prescribed a personalised treatment, including a possible prescription.
