Alfa Laval: agreement to acquire BunkerMetric

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Swedish engineering group Alfa Laval announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire BunkerMetric, a Danish developer of software for oil tankers.


Alfa Laval said it plans to integrate BunkerMetric's tools - whose algorithms allow shipping operators to calculate the best route for their cargo - into StormGeo, the weather forecasting services suite it recently completed.

The financial terms of the deal, which is expected to be completed by the end of Q3, were not disclosed.

Yesterday, Alfa Laval had already announced that it had completed the acquisition of Desmet, a Belgian company specialising in the engineering and supply of processing plants and technologies for edible oils and biofuels.

It seemingly had little impact however: Alfa Laval shares are pretty flat, while the Stockholm Stock Exchange's leading index is up almost 1%.
