Alfa Laval: wins renewable energy order in the US

(CercleFinance.com) - Alfa Laval said that it has won an order to supply a processing line to US refiner HollyFrontier to support the production of renewable diesel in a deal worth approximately 130 million Swedish kronor (about 13 million euros).


The order includes high speed separators and compact heat exchangers to provide a pre-treatment processing plant that removes contaminants from fats and oil feedstock prior to the conversion to renewable diesel fuel, the Swedish engineering firm said.

Investments in renewable diesel production in the US are currently driven by California's low-carbon fuel rules, which are intended to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels.

Equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2021.
