H&M: range of clothing made from recycled plastic

(CercleFinance.com) - H&M announced this morning its association with Danone Aqua, as part of the "Bottle2fashion" project, which transforms plastic bottle waste from the Indonesian coast into recycled polyester.

It also aims to support the Indonesian government's initiative against marine pollution - while generating local jobs - by collecting PET bottles, sorting, cleaning and shredding them into flakes and then transforming them into recycled polyester fibers.

This season, Bottle2fashion will collect and recycle approximately 3.5 million PET bottles. For H&M's children's clothing collection, recycled polyester has been blended with organic and recycled cotton to create cosy, everyday pieces with cutting-edge colours and silhouettes, H&M said.

The new clothing line will be available at the end of December.
