ABN Amro: earnings beat estimates on Dutch growth

(CercleFinance.com) - ABN Amro on Wednesday posted third-quarter net profit that is up 8% at 725 million euros, beating expectations due to cost savings and the strong Dutch economy.

The bank said that it had a "good" third quarter, with net interest income up 4% year-on-year.

ABN also said that it is on track to achieve its financial targets for 2020.

The group will present strategic priorities for the years ahead at its investor day on 16 November.

The Dutch economy grew 3.2% in 2017, with its growth of 0.8% in the second quarter of 2018.

ABN Amro shares were up 0.8% in morning trading on Euronext Amsterdam after these results.
