Aegon: net loss in Q3

(CercleFinance.com) - Aegon has reported a net loss of 60 million euros for Q3 2021, having had to pay a one-off charge of 470 million euros, as well as operating profit that is down 16% at 443 million euros.


" Performance improvements across most of our businesses, supported by the disciplined execution of our operational improvement plan, were offset by elevated mortality in the United States," said CEO Lard Friese.

Adding that it has reaped the benefits of the cost savings achieved to date, the Dutch insurance company says that it is confident in its target of 400 million euros in cost savings in 2023.
