Philips: sale agreement signed with Connect America.com

com announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to acquire Philips' ageing and care management business.

The scope of the transaction includes the Dutch healthcare group's personal emergency response systems (PERS), as well as its 24/7 medical alert services for the elderly.

The financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the next few weeks, were not disclosed.
