ArcelorMittal: receives an offer for four European assets

(CercleFinance.com) - ArcelorMittal today announced that it has received a binding offer from Liberty House Group for the acquisition of its sites in Ostrava (Czech Republic), Galati (Romania), Skopje (Macedonia) and Piombino (Italy).


These four assets are part of the package that ArcelorMittal has pledged to sell to meet European Commission requirements, as part of the investigation led by Brussels on the acquisition of Ilva by the steel making giant.

The transaction announced today is subject to this acquisition being completed, as well as the go-ahead from Europe. Negotiations are underway regarding other assets, i.e. Dudelange (Luxembourg) and several finishing lines in Liège (Belgium).
