Toyota: semiconductor shortage impacts production
(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota has announced that its global production plan has had to be adjusted (-150,000 units) for the February, due to the shortage of semiconductor materials.
The Japanese carmaker estimates that global production will reach 700,000 units in February 2022.
Following this adjustment, FY production forecasts (ending 31 March 2022), should be lower than the previous forecast of 9 million units.
Regarding the semiconductor shortage, Toyota says it will continue to review the situation and consult all companies involved to consider the use of substitutes where possible in anticipation of a continued shortage.
