bp: two consortia shortlisted for Teesside project

(CercleFinance.com) - bp announced on Wednesday that it and its partners have shortlisted two consortia for the development of its massive decarbonised electricity projects in the UK.

The energy group said it had shortlisted a consortium led by Technip Energies and General Electric, and a second consortium including Aker Solutions and Siemens Energy, to supply carbon capture technology.

The two consortia will each submit a project for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), but only one candidate will be chosen after the final investment decision in 2023, bp said.

The tender focuses on the "Net Zero Teesside" infrastructure which will capture several million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Teesside, an industrial town in the north-east of England.
