bp: Germany's Aral accelerates ultra-fast charging plans

(CercleFinance.com) - Aral, bp's petrol station chain in Germany, is expanding its network of ultra-fast electric charging stations, the British energy giant said on Tuesday.


Aral, which is Germany's largest fuel brand marketer and also the country's third-largest fast-food retailer, plans to install 500 ultra-fast charging points at over 120 petrol stations by the end of 2021, a deployment that is "significantly faster than planned," bp said.

The ultra-fast charging points, which are powered by green energy, mean that vehicles with the right batteries can be charged providing them with ranges of up to 350 km in just over 10 minutes.

The launch will happen under the new e-brand "Aral pulse," which now unites all Aral's e-mobility activities under the same name, bp added.
