Aviva: stock up on returns to shareholders
(CercleFinance.com) - Aviva shares are up over 1% in London, with, on the sidelines of its preliminary 2021 results, the insurance company announcing a total return of capital to shareholders of 4.
75 billion pounds, including the existing 1 billion pound share buyback.
The UK group also updated its dividend policy, with an estimated increase in the dividend per share of around 40% in 2022, to around 31.5p, following 2021, which it says was marked by significant strategic progress.
Management said that it general insurance volumes are the highest for over a decade, life sales are up 23% and we are on track to reduce controllable costs by 300 million pounds by the end of 2022.
