ALD: set to acquire Leaseplan

(CercleFinance.com) - Societe Generale and its subsidiary (almost 80% stake) ALD announce the signing of two separate MoU, providing for ALD's acquisition of 100% of LeasePlan's capital from a consortium led by TDR Capital, with a view to creating a leader in mobility solutions.


The planned acquisition of LeasePlan, which totals 4.9 billion euros, is due to be financed in both securities and cash. Subject to the usual conditions precedent, the transaction should be completed by the end of 2022.

Société Générale undertakes to remain the majority shareholder of the new group, with a stake of around 53% of capital at the closing of the transaction, with LeasePlan shareholders receiving a 30.75% stake as part of the payment in securities.
