Suez: Commission clears acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the acquisition of joint control of UK-based Suez Recycling and Recovery by France's Meridiam and the US company Global Infrastructure Management (GIP).


Suez Recycling and Recovery operates in the non-hazardous waste sector in the UK. Meanwhile, both Meridiam and GIP are investment funds that are active in the energy and environmental sectors.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given its very limited impact on the market structure.
