Scor: posts net loss in H1

(CercleFinance.com) - Scor has posted a net loss of 239 million euros for H1 2022, against a net profit of 380 million euros a year ago, with the impact of the war in Ukraine, natural disasters and the severe drought in Brazil all taking their toll.


However, the reinsurer reported gross written premiums of 9.69 billion euros, up 8.3% at constant exchange rates, including a 20.9% increase for Scor P&C (Property and Casualty) driven by previous underwriting years.

Scor also announced an estimated solvency ratio of 240% at 30 June, above the 226% ratio published at 31 December 2021 and above the optimal solvency range of 185%-220% defined in the "Quantum Leap" strategic plan.
