Eutelsat: signs partnership agreement with Intelsat

(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat Group and Intelsat have signed an extensive multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership agreement for Eutelsat's OneWeb Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation.


Effective from mid-2024, the partnership could reach $500m over seven years.

It includes a firm commitment of $250m, incorporating the $45m agreement signed in March 2023, with options for a further $250m at the end of the seven-year period.

This will enable Intelsat to combine the capabilities of OneWeb's LEO network with its own GEO and terrestrial resources to deliver end-to-end solutions for the networking, government services and mobility sectors.

The partnership will focus on the opportunity to integrate Intelsat's know-how into the implementation of the next-generation OneWeb constellation, of which Intelsat will be one of the main users.

Eutelsat management said that this partnership highlights the need for the major players in the satellite industry to be able to offer multi-orbit solutions to their customers now.
