Alstom: contract to equip Delhi-Meerut line

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced that it has won a contract worth 106 million euros in India to design, supply and install the signalling, telecommunications and train control system (Lot 24) for the 82.
15 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS stretch.

As a semi-high-speed line, the RRTS will reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut to just 60 minutes, from its current 90-100 minutes, with a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

The line will be the first in India to adopt the ETCS (European Train Control System) level 32 hybrid signalling system, which is the main signalling and train control element of the ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System).
