Orange: towards sale of OCS and Orange Studio

(CercleFinance.com) - Orange and the Canal+ Group, a subsidiary of Vivendi, today announce that they have signed a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition, by Canal+ Group, of all of the shares held by Orange in the OCS pay-TV package and in Orange Studio.


The transaction will be subject to an information-consultation process with the employee representative bodies and will be notified to the French Competition Authority. Following the transaction, Canal+ Group will become the sole shareholder of both companies.

The quality of OCS' service and content - currently distributed by all ISPs as well as within Canal+'s cinema series offerings - is recognised by both industry professionals and consumers, the companies said.
