Eiffage: wins contract in Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - Eiffage Génie Civil Marine has been selected by BP, in consortium with Saipem SA, to carry out pre-project (FEED) design studies and prepare the implementation of the Hub/Terminal Turtle/Ahmeyim, a major LNG project located on the maritime borders of Mauritania and Senegal, we learned late on Wednesday morning.


The Hub/Terminal consists of a docking infrastructure, built 10 kilometres offshore and protected by an offshore breakwater, to accommodate the floating liquefaction plant and enable the docking of LNG carriers.

This initial phase of engineering will enable the consortium, led by Eiffage Génie Civil Marine, to define the infrastructure design and implementation plan. It will start immediately and will have to be completed by the end of the year. The contract provides mechanisms to enable the transition to a fixed EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract.
