Vivendi: Havas strengthens position in healthcare sector

(CercleFinance.com) - Havas, a subsidiary of Vivendi, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the Paris-based communications agency Raison de Santé with a view to strengthening its position in the French healthcare market.


Created in 2008, Raison de Santé is an agency specialising in environmental communications which works with most of the major pharmaceutical companies.

In particular, the company focuses on therapeutic areas such as oncology, chronic inflammatory diseases, haematology, vaccines and rare diseases.

In a press release, Havas explains that healthcare is now a "strategic" focus for the group.

This operation comes at a time when the healthcare sector is undergoing a period of very rapid expansion in France, management said.

Indeed, over the past five years, it has doubled its revenues and France is now the fifth largest market for medicines in the world and the fourth largest exporter of vaccines.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
