Michelin: acquires 'Le Fooding' guide
(CercleFinance.com) - Three years after it started to collaborate with Le Fooding - a guide that covers restaurants, bars, guest rooms and style hotels - Michelin has announced that it has acquired 100% of its capital.
In 2017, Michelin took a 40% stake in the guide and planned to take full control at a later date.
After acquiring Tablet in 2018, a specialist in charming and luxury hotels, and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, a global guide for wine in 2019, through this acquisition Michelin is continuing in strategy to make inroads in the art of living.
Just a few days before its 20th anniversary, Le Fooding today federates a community of more than 6 million readers and nearly 400,000 followers. The guide will retain its trademark, its editorial independence and its own selection of establishments, Michelin said. A new governance structure will be announced in the coming weeks.
