Sodexo: acquisition in domestic help in Brazil

(CercleFinance.com) - Sodexo announces that it has taken a majority stake in Pronep, a company specialised in home help services in Brazil, which Sodexo says significantly strengthens its international presence in a growing Brazilian market.


The transaction should be finalised by the end of November. With over 30 years of experience in the Brazilian market, Pronep has offices in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Vitória, and offers special services to more than 1000 seniors.

Sodexo stresses that Brazil has one of the largest and progressively ageing populations in the world. By 2050, it will have the fourth largest number of old people in the world, behind China, India and the United States.
