Pernod Ricard: whisky distillery inaugurated in China

(CercleFinance.com) - Pernod Ricard has announced the official inauguration of a single malt whisky distillery in Emeishan, in the Chinese province of Sichuan, a site that has been in operation since last August and which represents an investment of 150 million dollars over ten years.


The group said that it is the first international wine and spirits group to open a fully operational whisky distillery in China, confirming its status as a pioneer in the Chinese whisky market.

When it opens to the public in 2023, the distillery aims to welcome two million visitors over the first ten years. The distillery is contributing to net zero, notably by using 100% renewable electricity.
