Air Liquide: two hydrogen projects in Shanghai

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide has announced that its Chinese subsidiary SCIPIG will invest over 200 million euros in building two hydrogen production units and associated infrastructure in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).


The industrial gases group says that the commissioning of these production units will bring environmental benefits as they are designed to replace supply from a third-party coal gasification plant.

Under contracts, which will last for over 15 years, the units will produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide for Covestro China and Shanghai Lianheng Isocyanate Company. They will come on stream in stages, starting at the end of 2023.
