Nexans: develops cable with recycled aluminium

(CercleFinance.com) - Cable manufacturer Nexans says that, together with Trimet, it has developed a new product capable of meeting the high technical requirements for mechanical properties and conductivity while reducing its carbon footprint.


In a joint project, the companies have developed a material containing recycled aluminium for the production of aluminium wire used in electrical cables, which until now has been made exclusively from primary aluminium.

Nexans plans to maximise the use of electrical wire containing recycled aluminium in 2023. This will enable it to meet the growing demand from its customers for products with a favourable eco-balance.
