Almirall: names industry veteran as new CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - Almirall, the Spanish pharmaceutical company, on Thursday named Gianfranco Nazzi, an industry veteran, as its new CEO, effective 1 May.


Nazzi, who previously held senior roles at pharma giants such as AstraZeneca, GSK and Eli Lilly, will take over from Mike McClellan as CEO, who at the beginning of the year was appointed interim CEO, alongside his role as CFO.

For the record, the company's former chief executive, Peter Guenter, left Almirall at end-2020 to pursue other professional goals elsewhere.
